At the first glance, it is clear that water was used mainly for industry and agriculture towards these areas.
About half of water consumption in North America and Europe was in Industry, which was 48% and 53% respectively. According to that, agricultural purpose accounted for nearly one-third percentage, exactly 32% for North America and 32% for Europe. Likewise, just 13% of water consumption was for domestic used in North America and 15% for Europe.
In regards, the percentage of water used for agriculture accounted for a very large majority in South America, Africa, Central Asia and South East Asia, clearly 71%, 84%, 88% and 81% respectively. In addition, industrial used and domestic used was almost under 10%, apart from South America with 19% used for domestics and South East Asia with 12% used for Industry.
