The line chart illustrates the ratio of UK juveniles who have vegetarian diet between 1960 to 2020.
As it is observed from the graph, less than 1 per cent of teenagers were vegetarian in 1960. This ratio steeply increased to more than 15% until 1980. In this year the proportion of youth vegetarian was the highest. Over the next 10 years, the percentage of adolescents vegetarian decreased steadily. From 1990 t0 2000 the ratio fluctuated and touched the lowest point in this period with just 4 per cent. It is seen from the data, after the year 2000, ratio of young vegetarian again enhanced gradually and it is estimated that this will remain almost constant in the next decade.
Overall, it is shown that vegetarianism among teenagers in the UK risen dramatically from 1960 and was very popular in 1980. Thereafter the number of young vegetarian dropped and it is predicted that it will go up in the future.
