Some people think the best way to reduce is by giving longer prison sentence. Other, however, think there are better alternative ways to reduce it. Discuss both views and give your opinion

It is true that some say long time of punishment can decrease the number of crimes. While I accept this as an argument by some people, i do believe that there are many ways to decrease crimes instead of the length of punishment.

The most of the people in society think that the way to stop criminals mis by create longer sentence. With this, people will see and then obey the law. This, however, is the most common view about action to punish the criminals. Prisoners who get long time of their sentence would think twice about their crimes and then regret for what they have done. In prison, they will get education and help to change their life. The more criminals change their life to be a good person, the more people would get out from criminal life. So, with longer time for them as prisoner, the chance also bigger is to make them to be good people. This method not only change the criminal to be a good man, but also affect people in society such people would understand how is the law stands to turn down the criminality for its citizen in the best way.

With many kinds of crimes, the kinds of penalties must be varied too. Which means, the method to decrease crime can be more expanded. First, government should know where does the root of the crime, so government can prevent it. Preventing act will decrease the nominal of crimes. It is proved by many countries who do this. Actions to prevent crime have various way such by education. Education, however, become the main point to prevent the increasing of criminality. In fact, children in many places who get good education have good personality, and then the country where these children live would be more secure and less of criminality. This, prove that there is alternative to minimize crime.

In conclusion, there are convincing arguments both for and against longer punishment, but I do believe that there are many alternative ways to decrease the value of criminality. I suggest the government to use various ways to solve this problem.
