One of your friends recently had a birthday celebration, but you missed it and you forgot to tell your friend that you couldn’t attend. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter:
– explain why you missed it
– explain why you didn’t tell your friend
– and say what you would like to do to show that you are sorry
Dear Mathew,
hope you are doing well. First of all, I would like to wish you a belated happy birthday and would like to apologize for missing your birthday bash this year.
Actually, I had such a busy schedule last week due to an ongoing project for which I had to urgently travel to China and hence was not able to make it to your birthday party. I wanted to intimate you of this sudden engagement but as you know sometimes you are so much occupied with work that you forget your personal commitments.
I hope you would accept my apology and to make up for this I would like to invite you to a party which I would be hosting. How does Sunday this week sound?. I promise you that you will enjoy as I would also be inviting our college friends. It would also be a great opportunity to meet old friends
I look forward to seeing you soon
Warm wishes
Mike
