Many languages are disappearing every year. Is this bad for the world or is it helps unify the human race?
In this last hundred years, as we know more people in many parts of the world learn and use the international language since child. As a result, one by one languages have disappeared. While some people believe that this become disaster for the world, the other people think that it is actually can bring us to unify the inhabitants in the world. This essay will examine these aspects whether this phenomenon is good or bad.
English, as international language, has been the main language for many families. Like in Indonesia, many families today use english language to communicate in their home. Since child, they introduce english to their children and even they rarely to speak Indonesian language. Because of that, there are many Indonesian children today who cannot speak their mother language. It is obviously bad because language is one of country's identity. When the language extincts, it means that the countries will lose their identity. What does make our universe unique? The answer is our cultural diversity, particularly languages.
On the other hand, by using international language, people can easily socialize across countries. They can build cooperation for some aspects and this gives mutual benefit for each other. On the other words, it is not problem when many languages are disappearing as long as people use international language. Even this led to unify the human race and create the peaceful world. It is true because we can find some fights or wars between area A and area B that caused by misunderstanding languages.
To sum up, I believe that disappearing language is trouble. In my view, both mother language and unitary language are particularly essential. So, people must keep their mother language live while also create the alliance in the world by using unitary language.
