The given table and pie charts illustrate the changes in terms of income and expenditure on groceries and clothes in a typical household living in a city located in the UK between 2010 and 2013.
Overall, surprisingly whereas the total income was slightly decreased over 3 years, the food and clothes consumption increased considerably. In addition, when looking deeply at the showed pie chart, inhabitants living in the urban area spend more on fruits, vegetables, clothes, and dairy food compared with an opposite change in meat and fist expenditures.
First of all, the period showed a minor decline in the total income value that was at 29,000 pounds in the beginning and then 25,000 pounds in 2013. In contrast, spending on food and clothes was increased by 1,000 pounds on average to 15,000 pounds in the end of surveyed time.
In addition, when looking at the details of expenditures on different categories of food and clothes, the percentages of fruits and vegetables grew by 15% along with a slight increase in the figure for dairy products that jumped from 15% to 20% over the period. While the proportion of other food and drink spending was remained at 18%, both portions of expenditures on clothes, meat and fish felt by 10%.
