You recently attended a meeting at a hotel. When you returned home, you found you had left some important papers at the hotel.
Write a letter to the manager of the hotel. In your letter
• say where you think you left the papers
• explain why they are so important
• tell the manager what you want him/her to do
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am writing to request for your assistance. Last week, I attended a meeting held in the conference room of your hotel, where I left some of my important documents.
You will find the documents in a blue folder on the table beside the projector screen, if it has not already been noticed by one of your staff members. The folder has the logo of ‘Techno Companies Ltd.’ on the front.
I have an important presentation next week where I am the chief speaker. However, the folder also contains the passes for the seminar without which I will be unable to attend the event. This could lead to severe damage to the reputation of our company.
I would be most grateful if you could send the folder by courier at the earliest possible. I would be happy to refund any postal charges. Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to receiving the folder.
Yours sincerely,
Amy
