Underground disposal is employed with the 82% of the waste in the United Kingdom, followed by Sweden with 55% and the Republic of Korea with 22%.
Incineration is the third most common method to process dangerous waste in Sweden and the Republic of Korea with 20% and 9% respectively. However, in the United Kingdom only 2% of waste products are incinerated, which makes it one the last popular ways to manage waste in this country.
The United Kingdom uses chemical treatments and dumps the waste at the sea an 8%. In contrast, the Republic of Korea and Sweden do not use those methods to deal with hazardous waste products.
