Essay topics:

The graph below shows the population figures for different types of turtles in India from 1980 to 2012.

The given line graph details the change in the growth pattern of four types of turtles: Leatherback, Green, All species, and Olive ridley turtles in India over a period of 32 years from 1980 to 2012.

Looking from the overall perspective, it is readily apparent that among all the categories which originated at the same value, showed a different growth behavior over time. A reverse trend can be witnessed in the case of Leatherback and olive ridley, while the other two represent a moderately similar growth trend.

According to the given illustration, about 100 turtles of each type emerged out in 1980. With the passing time, the Leatherback and Ridley touched a common value of 110 in 1986. Thereafter, both experienced an opposite pattern, the latter grew dramatically to a peak value of 130 before slipping down by 10 in 2012. In contrast, the former plummeted to just 60 after facing a few fluctuations by the end of the period.

On the other hand, despite showing an initial contrasting trend, the other two types grew moderately at the same pace during the last two decades. However, all species led the green turtle's number(100) by 10 in 2012.
