Essay topics:

The graph below shows the population figures for different types of turtles in India from 1980 to 2012.

The supplied line graph delineates the population of four types of turtles namely leatherback turtles, green turtles, olive ridley turtles , and all species in India during the period 1980 to 2012.

A glance at the graph reveals that population of all types of turtles in 1980 was same as compared to 2012 when olive ridley turtles has maximum population whereas leatherback turtles were minimum.

Now turning to details, population figures for both green turtles and all species experienced moderate change over the span of 22 years. Beginning from about 100 in 1980, after erratic ups and downs in between, all species and green turtles reached to 110 and 90 respectively in 2012.

As can be seen in the line graph, olive ridley turtles had a significant rise in terms of population in the given period. This type of turtles rose gradually before reaching a peak of 140 in 1997 following which the number oscillated between 130 to 140. Interestingly, the number of leatherback turtles experienced a noticeable fall from 1986, at a vertex of 110, to 2008 at merely below 60.
