The bar chart illustrates the proportion of USA commuters who lived alone in various age over a period 150 years, from 1890 to 2000.
Overall, it is clear that the number of people living alone increased through out the time shown. Also, people who aged at 55-64 had a large majority of living alone.
In the year 1850, people had age group at 37-46,47-54 and 55-64 accounted for nearly 3%. In 1990, those living alone who aged at 27-36 appeared with over than 2%. And other age groups at that time just were sightly higher than that of 27-36.
In 1950, the following 50 years, a little proportion of people who lived alone at 17-26 appeared and continuously increased until the amount had more double and reached at 8%. The other age groups live alone gradual developed significantly. Especially people at 55-64, in 1950, the amount just stood at nearly 10%. But in 2000, it went up to 17% and accounted for the largest proportion.
