Your neighbors have recently written to you to complain about the noise from your house flat.
Write a letter to your neighbors. In your letter
• Explain reasons for the noise
• Apologize
• Describe what action you will take
Dear Mark,
Hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. I have received a letter from your side complaining about the noise coming from my apartment. First of all, I tender my apology for the inconvenience caused. Let me explain the situation.
As you are aware that I have recently purchased this apartment from the previous owner. The apartment needed some major repair work in the washroom and kitchen. To elucidate, the washroom was facing water leakage issues and the kitchen had no ventilation. In fact, the leakage from the water pipe was so bad that it was making the walls damp and thus needed immediate repair.
Therefore I would like to apologize for the inconvenience you and your family had to face as I can understand that noise can be irritating and disturbing when kids are sleeping and studying. Additionally as mentioned in your letter if I had known earlier that your kids were appearing for examination then I would I have postponed the repair work by a few weeks. From tomorrow onwards I would instruct the labour not to carry major repair jobs after 6 pm which will definitely reduce the level of disturbance.
I look forward to your cooperation and look forward to seeing you soon.
Yours sincerely
Ben
