The maps demonstrate the development of Queen Mary hospital from 1960 to 2000, a period of four decades.
Overall, at the beginning of the period, the space was split into four sectors but started from 1980 until 2000, the area were divided into five sectors. During the construction, only the location of hospital and the car park that were remain the same whilst the location of other buildings changed in each period.
In 1960, there was shopping center next to the hospital close to the roadway. Exactly behind the mall, there was a farmland which was the largest space among the four in this period. Within twenty years, shopping center was demolished and replaced by cancer center and pharmacy. Like a mall, the farmland was also destroyed and become nursing school which was as big as a parking lot. Unfortunately, in 2000, the area for nursing academy and parking lot were reduced around 50 percent from the original place for the expansion of the cancer center area.
