The graph shows the proportion of the population aged 65 and over in Japan, Sweden and USA between 1940 and 2040.
In general, it can be seen from the graph that the proportion of population age 65 and over were increase slightly from a hundred year.
The percentage of population aged 65 and over in USA was quite high, just under 10 % and climbed up steadily every twenty years. Then, in 1980, that was fell slowly until in 2020. Afterwards, that will be rise dramatically by 9 % to 23 % in 2040. Similarly, the population of old people with aged 65 and over in Sweden stood at 7 % in 1940.
Next, this rose up until 1980, then the percentage fluctuated from 1980 to 2040.
By contrast, Japan had the proportion of population of people was the lowest, at 5 %. Moreover, that was decrease gradually in around 1990. Then, it began to climb up slightly every twenty years. Next, in 2030, estimate the population of old people will increase drastically from 10 % to 28 % and will become the highest percentage of population of old people with age 65 and over.
Overall, Japan was the least population of old people in the past but the prediction of percentage population of old people in there will become the highest population for a century, in 2040
