You recently received a letter from a friend asking for advice about whether to go to college or to try to get a job. You think he / she should get a job.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
- Say why he / she would not enjoy going to college
- Explain why getting a job is a good idea for him / her
- Suggest types of jobs that would be suitable for him / her
Dear Sara,
Hope you are doing well. it has been a long time since we last met. First of all congratulations on completing your graduation additionally, I have received your letter asking for a piece of advice on whether to go for a job or continue studies.
In my opinion, going back to college is not a good idea as it would mean going back into the same environment. Additionally, if you continue with your studies it will not provide any additional exposure thus making your life monotonous. I am also aware of the financial condition of your family so I would not suggest putting an additional financial burden on your parents at this stage. Hence I suggest going for a job which will not only enable to gain valuable work experience but also help you to become financially strong. Moreover, the trend nowadays is to gain work experience which proves to be a pivotal parameter while applying for post-graduation programs. Therefore students who have work experience are given priority while applying for admissions in reputed universities.
Lastly, I would recommend to look out for a job in software design or testing as it would be related to your field of study.
I hope you will consider my valuable advice and make the right decision.
Best wishes
Saad
