The graph below shows average carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions per person in the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal between 1967 and 2007.
The supplied line graph illustrate the carbon dioxide (CO2) emission per metric tonnes in four europian countires from the year 1967 to 2007.
Overall, it can be seen that UK produced the most among the 4 nation over the period although it fell slightly. The amount of CO2 emitted per person was markedly the least in sweden while the level rose steadly in both Portugal and Italy.
First of all, UK and sweden had the highest emission of CO2 per person in the year 1967 with around 11 and 9 tonnes respectively. However, Sweden experienced and increase to reach near the same amount of UK in the year 1977 and then dropped steadily to reach just below 6 tones by the end of the period while UK droped to 9 tones approximetly.
In contrast, there was a significant increase on the level of Co2 emitted by Portugese and italian over the period of 40 years.Italy almost doubled the figure, making it the second highest emitter by 2007 while Portugal’s figure roses more dramtically by 5 tones per person and equaled with sweden.
