The most striking feature is that a majority of people preferred to watch films on Saturday and Sunday. In addition, the percentage of viewers going to the cinemas increased gradually every day during the time surveyed.
In 2003, the proportion of residents going to the movie houses on a Saturday was highest, accounted for 40%. The figures for Sunday and Friday were lower and the same, at 30%. During the next 4 years, the percentages of people watching films on a Saturday and Sunday climbed gradually to nearly 45% and above 30% respectively, whereas the figure for Friday remained constant.
Regarding the remaining days, 20% of people went to the movie theaters on a Tuesday, compared to more than 15% on a Wednesday, nearly 12% on a Thursday and 10% on a Monday. The period between 2003 and 2007 witnessed a marginal growth in the percentages of citizens in the movie theaters on a Monday and a Thursday to above 10% and nearly 15% respectively. In contrast, the figures for Tuesday and Wednesday felt gradually to under 20% and approximately 10% respectively in 2007.
