Write a letter to your English-speaking friend telling him/her about a local event that is to
take place in your town, which would be useful to her/him. In your letter
- Mention the event
- What are the activities involved
- Mention the arrangements you would make for his/her stay
Dear Mark,
Hope this letter finds you in the pink of your health. I am writing in reference to inform you about a local event which is going to take place next month in my hometown "Ladakh". Let me explain in detail.
To elucidate it is a cultural event which happens every year in the month of June and attracts tourists globally. The event has a major prominence in the region since it highlights the cultural heritage of the Ladakhi people. Although the event lasts for three weeks however this year it has been reduced to two weeks due to the upcoming elections in the region. The major activities include dancing by the local tribes, yak races and art competition. Additionally, there will be several shops where visitors can buy ethnic stuff and souvenirs. Furthermore, visitors can enjoy local cuisine at food stalls in the event.
Hence I believe it will be an alluring experience for you to explore different facets of the local culture, therefore, I will be able to make some local arrangements for your lodging at a nearby hotel which is in close proximity of the location where the event will take place.
I look forward to your response so that I can proceed with the bookings.
Warm regards
Saud
