The Professor in the lecture does not agree with the reasoning provides by the author in the pasage. The article states that it is unlikely that AMaerican wood comapies will adopt the eco-certificate practice. The authore, In support of his claim, gives three reasons; American people don't trust advertisements, peaople's unlikelyness to pay hiegher money incured by the certification cost, and not so much benefit for companies business. However, the lecture does not concur with the any of the reasons.
Professor says that US public is very kin trust in advetising specially if the advertsing company shows ther certification done by the Independent certification company or Independent organization. People tend to buy the products which are certified, and this reasoning directly condradict with the Author's claim about non-trastablity of advertisement and certification.
The professor also opposes the reasoning that due to certification cost, prices of the certified wood will become more due to which people will not be willing to buy. He says that price alone is not the deciding factor, unless it is too high compared to it's competitors. If the price discrepancy is less than 5%, people gerally tend to buy certified products instead of going for uncertified one.He further posits that even US people as more value concerned and they prefer to buy eco-centric products.
The lecture also refutes the claim that companies will not have benefits from certification which can help to keepup with rest of the world. He says that even though if American companies are not more concerned about international business, there slow adoption to the latest trends about the eco-friendly practices may harm these companies. He says that if some foreign companies are able to allure the US people, the local companies may lose their business in competiotion to the foreign firms.
With the giving above reasoning and points, the Professor completely disagree with the reading claims.
