You successfully passed a job interview. You are expected to start on November 15, but you will not be available on that date. Task: Write a letter to your new boss, explaining your situation, expressing your concern and suggesting a solution.
Dear Sir,
I am writing with regards to my expected joining on 15th November. Due to an unforeseen situation I will not be able to commence work on the agreed date and will most likely be joining on 1st December.
Let me explain in details. According to the revised policy of my present company the notice period has been increased from 30 to 45 days effective from this month, in evidently delaying my joining date. My current manager failed to convey this change, resulting in my error nous joining commitment. Moreover, I am aware of the fact that, the completion of the new project solely depends on me and I need to finish it by the end of this year.
In order to do so, I would like to request for an additional resource to help carry out the work and deliver it on time. In addition, post work I would like to drop by the office for at least 2 hours daily, to get a head start on the work and my job responsibilities.
I look forward to your reply and hope you would consider my situation favorably.
Kind Regards,
Mary Smith
