While about a fifth of (19%) water is being consumed for domestic use in South America,the rate of Europe is 15% and North America is 13%. However, the lowest percentage of less than a tenth (9%) by Africa and an equal rate of 7% is by Central and South Asia is for household purposes.
In contrast, more than a half (53%) of European and less than a half (48%) of North American water consuming is for industries where it is the lowest percentage of 12%,7% and 5% for South East Asia, Africa and Central Asia respectively.
