You have seen an advertisement for a community college that needs teachers for night classes.
Write a letter to the community college. In your letter:
• say which advertisement you are answering
• describe which course(s) you want to teach, and what it/they would be about
• explain why you would be a suitable teacher
Dear Sir,
I am writing this letter with regards to the advertisement I saw in The Hindu newspaper yesterday regarding job vacancy of the tutor at your community college during night timings.
I would like to take this opportunity in teaching microbiology to science students of the institute during night timings. The microbiology course will provide the basic guidance of hygiene to students and make them professional and skilled to work in any hygiene industry such as food factory. In addition to that, this course will also guide them on how to perform laboratory medical tests for infection detection like malaria testing.
I have done masters in microbiology from Pune University and I am teaching this subject from 15 years in SP College during morning hours. Furthermore, I did the course on ‘teaching skills’ recently from Jain University which makes me a more competitive candidate for this post.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours sincerely,
Vishal
