The bar chart displays the proportion between private household and leased accommodation in England and Wales from 1912 to 2011.
It is clear that there was a considerable fall in the number of personal housing, and the percentage of rented households increased steadily between 1918 and 2001. Overall, the proportion of personal housing had reached the highest number in 1918, compared to the lowest percentage of rented housing at the same time. Plus there was the same rate of both households in owned and rented accommodation in 1971.
First of all, the rate of personal accommodation had slumped from around 76% to nearly a third between 1918 and 2001 until a gradual increase in 2011. Whereas, there was a steep growth in the percent of leased housing from around 20% in 1918 to approximate 3 quarter in 2001, then a dip in 2011.
Second of all, there was a largest proportion of private household in 1918, nearly 80%, but also was the lowest rate of rented accommodation with just around 22% at the same time. Finally, the rate of both axes reached the same percent in 1971 with exactly 50%.
