This line graph gives the information of UK’s long-term international migration from 1999-2008.
Overall, we can clearly tell from the line that the population of immigration and emigration in UK both increased about 260 thousand people over the past ten years.
In terms of the immigration to UK, it experienced two plateaus: from the period of 2000-2001 and 2002-2003. After that, a significant increase occurred from the year 2003 to 2004. In the following five-year span, the immigration population ebbed and flew, and the peak emerged in the year 2006, which was a 600-thousand population. And finally in 2008, it reached to the level of 595 thousand people.
As for emigration, the overall trend of it was increasing. It plateaued in the year 2002 to 2003. After met a peak in 2006, the number of emigrates from UK fall dramatically from 400 thousands to 350 thousands—the lowest point over the sex-year’s increase. And after that, it continues to increase.
To summarize, from the beginning, the increasing rate of both immigration and emigration acts in the similar way. In the 10-year span, the conditions of immigration and emigration changed irregularly. Overall, the trend of immigration and emigration was growing.
