Bar graph (three categories and 5 different age group)
The bar chart give information about how much money was spent on three basic needs by people from different age group in the UK.
Overall, while expenditure of food & drink and entertainment shared the similar pattern that both increased with age, the money spent on restaurant & hotel followed the opposite trend. Furthermore, as shown by the chart, people spent more money on food & drink than the other 2 categories.
As for under 30 age group, the proportion of expenditure for food & drink and entertainment are nearly equal at about 7% which is only half of the restaurant & hotel spending at approximately 15%.
When citizens in this nation get older, there were upward trends in spending on food & drink. The figures increased gradually throughout the age groups and reached the top of 23% accounted by over-75-year-old people. Similarly, more money for entertainment was set aside as age increased with 23% highest of group aged 60-75. However, the oldest group only have the amount of expenditure allocated equal to a half of the previous group at 12%. In contrast, expenditure on restaurant & hotel decreases gradually with age to only under 5% among the oldest.
