Islip town center now and its planned development
The map shows the Islip town center as it is now and illustrates the proposed changes made to town in the future.
It can be seen that the area will experience drastic changes in terms of both facilities and transportation infrastructure. The most significant change can be found that in construction of a new ring road around the center of the town.
Regarding the transport infrastructure, the current Islip town has a main road connecting the western and the eastern part of the town, along with two paths leading to the school and the park. In the future, however, the main road is planned to be replaced by a dual carriageway which circles around the town center, with a traffic-free road running through the middle of it.
Regarding the town facilities, currently there are two rows of shops running both sides of the main road. While the one to the north of residential will be replaced by a bus station, a shopping center, a car park and a new residential area, the one to the south is expected to remain unchanged. In addition, the park is within reach of the housing area will be reduced in size to make the way more houses.
