The table illustrates the grams of CO2 emission per European passenger for various means of transports while the pie chart describes European Union spending on transport. As can be seen from the diagram, air transport by far emitted the highest gram of CO2 per person and the EU spends the most of roads and railways.
According to the bar chart, the grams of CO2 per person exhaled by flying in air stands at 355, approximately three times as much as cars which are the next largest producers. Buses cam next with more than 50 grams of CO2. The lowest gram of CO2 per passenger is emitted by coaches with just under 50 while maritime and rail stands at the same level of 50.
The highest percentage of funds is spent on Roads with 52%. Railways are not far behind with just above 3 out of 10 while public transport is spent three time less. The remaining 7% comes from intermodal, inland waterway, ports, airports and unknown with 2% or less each.
