In 1990, there was 37% of aged 44-54 going to the cinema and 35% of aged 34-44. After a gradual increase to exactly 40%, the ratio of the older dipped briefly to the starting point while the latter was just above 30% during the period of 10 years. Both age group then experienced a significant rise before those above 44 reached a peak of 52% and the younger one was 44% in 2010.
In contrast, the youngest group was three times less than the 44-54 group in 1990 while the 24-34 was 25%. The percentage of those from 14 to 24 attending cinema hovered around 15% before climbing to 20% whereas the latter fluctuated wildly to more than 30% in the next 15 years. The former then stayed constantly at 33% compared to 21% of the 14-24 from 2005 to 2010
