The given bar graph illustrates about the number of trips under took by children of a particular country in the year 1990 and 2010 using five different means of transport.
The graph overall illustrates that in the year 1990, walking was the most and travelling by car was the least popular amongst the children during their school trips. However, in the year 2010, travelling by car went to be the most popular ones whereas cycling came to be known as the least favorite means of transport. In the year 1990, more than 12 millions of children traveled by walk, which got reduced to 6 million (almost half) in the year 2010. Only more than 4 millions of children traveled by car in the year 1990. This number was increased to 11 millions in the year 2010.
Among the other modes of transport, Cycling, Walking and bus, and only by bus were used less by children in the year 2010 when compared to 1990. In the year 1990, around 6 million children traveled by both cycling, walking and bus mode. These numbers were reduced to 2 millions, 3 millions for cycling, walking and bus modes respectively in the year 2010. Nevertheless, more than 7 millions of children used to travel by bus in the year 1990. This number was reduced to 5 millions in the year 2010.
The graph henceforth, conveys that the only mode of transport which got more popular in the year 2010 than that of the year 1990 amongst the children to carry out their excursion from school is to travel by car.
