You have a spare room in your apartment that you would like to rent out to a student. Write a letter to the Student Accommodation Officer of a local college.
In your letter, you should tell:
· where your apartment is located
· when the room will be available
· what your requirements for a student to stay there are.
Dear Sir or Madam,
I am Ell Green and have one vacant room in my apartment. With this letter, I would like to seek your help to find out a student who is looking for accommodation in the vicinity of a college campus.
My flat number is 701 and located in DLF Phase 4, Gurgaon. This flat is situated in a gated society and the room to be rented has all the facilities, such as 24-hour power backup, in-suite washroom, geyser and Wi-FI internet connection. In addition to this, the window overlooks a lushed greenery. To cap it all, supermarket and metro station are at five minutes walking distance.
With regards to the date of availability, an interested student may move-in anytime on September 15. Though the room is currently vacant, it would be a good idea to inform me one week in advance to get it ready for a new tenant.
As far as my requirements for a new flatmate are concerned, perhaps it would be a good idea to rent it out to a female student with decent, responsible and outgoing nature. Also, please ensure that the new tenant should be a non-smoker and most importantly, she should sign an agreement for at least six months and pay two months of rent in advance.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Yours faithfully,
Ell Green
