Your friend is about to move into a new house. Write a letter to your friend. In your letter
offer to help him/her to move
explain how exactly you can help
ask him/her some questions about the new house
Dear John,
I'm glad to hear from you after a long time and came to know that you are moving into a new house. I'm dropping you a line to offer some help while shifting.
As you mentioned that you're planning to move this Sunday, I would be happy to help you and Maria, as I know how difficult it is to shift from one place to another. In fact, I owe you one since you helped me in selling my old car last year.
As for how could I help you, I am free this weekend and I could come over to give both of you a hand in packing. I won't mind doing babysitting as well, as it would be quite difficult for her to manage everything with a kid around. Please don't bother to cook, I'll bring some food for all of us.
As far as your new house is concerned and as both of you are nature lovers, I'm sure you must have considered a house with plenty of space for gardening, isn't it? What about parking space? I hope that would not be an issue here at your new house, which you face most of the time in your current one.
Anyway, that's all for now and I look forward to hearing from you.
Cheers,
Ell
