smart cars
The reading and lecture are both about smart cars that basically drive themselves. The author of the reading feels that smart cars will provide a lot benefits, like keep the driving more secure, faster and cheaper. The lecture disagrees with the claims made by the author. In her opinion smart car technology will not clearly produce such benefits.
Initially, the author argues that smart cars will save people’s lives and also prevent accidents. The article mention that will be use high-tech equipment to avoid collisions. This point is challenged by the lecture. She claims that the number of accidents do not will reduce. Additionally, she says that, if will be increase the number of cars driving fast on the streets, of course, the chance to take a big crash involving more cars will be high. She do not have reasons to believe that smart cars will be a good employment.
Secondly, the writer suggests that the traffic problems will be eliminate. In the article, it is said that by using smart cars the speed of driving will be fast. The lecture, however, counters this by mentioning that increasing the highway speeds will not be safe. She elaborates on this by bringing up the point that if an accident happen more cars will be involved and dimension of the accident will be bigger.
Finally, the author states that smart cars will reduce the cost of driving, the article continues, stating that, driving for most direct routes, consequently people will not spend a lot of money on repairs. In contrast, the lecturer’s position is that this type of technology is really expensive. She notes that sensors of control and the high level of technology, will become a regular repair more expensive than the replacement of a traditional mechanics car parts.
