The line graph describes the number of immigrants who were granted uk citizenship between 1962 and 2002, and the bar chart outlined the information about the distribution of those people origin from 1996 to 2002.
Generally, there is a significant rise in the number of immigrants who obtained uk citizenship with the majority came from Asia.
Specifically, in 1962, 20,000 people were issued uk citizenship. The figure increased to 39,000 in the preceded ten years before dropping to 30,000 in 1982, and finally reached 50,000 in 1992. that number rocketed to 110,000 in the following ten years.
Regarding a breakdown in the origin of uk’s new citizens, the data compared in two particular years (1996 and 2002). As can be seen from the chart, Asian accounted for the most with 49,000 immigrants to the uk in 1996 then followed by europe and africa, both were 9,000 and the least was from america, australasia and others. After six years, Asia was still the continent with the most immigrant to the uk, but the figure climbed noticeably by nearly 10,000. The figure of africa and europe were also rose to 25,000 and 27,000 respectively. However, that number whose origin was america, australasia and others declined by 1,000.
