You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to your friend. In your letter,
give details of your study plans
explain why you want to get a part-time job
suggest how your friend could help you find a job
Dear Rick,
I hope you are doing good. As you know, I will be moving to Canada next month for higher studies, I am writing to ask for your help in finding part-time work for myself.
I have enrolled for a 2 year Post Graduation Diploma course at the University of Ottowa, and this course offers a bi-weekly classroom program. So I will be going to university twice a week which gives me 4 free days every week. This free time can be utilized to earn some credit with the help of part-time work.
Being a student, you are very well aware of the hefty fee that international students have to pay and I took a study-loan from the State bank of India. Earning while studying can be of great help in repaying the loan and earlier, I start the repayment lower will be the rate of interest.
Finally, I would need your help to get a part-time job and it will be of great help if you can refer me to any store or workplace that offers part-time employment. I will catch up with you when I arrive in Canada, next week.
See you soon!
Regards,
Harinder
