You are going to another country to study. You would like to do a part-time job while you are studying, so you want to ask a friend who lives there for some help.
Write a letter to this friend. In your letter
- Give details of your study plans
- Explain why you want to get a part-time job
- Suggest how your friend could help you find a job
DEAR TOM,
HELLO, HOW ARE YOU? I HOPE YOU FIND THIS LETTER IN GOOD HEALTH. YOU WOULD BE SURPRISED TO KNOW THAT I HAVE PLANNED TO ENROLL IN OXFORD UNIVERSITY OF YOUR REGION AND WILL BE LANDING THERE SOON.
LAST YEAR I HAD APPLIED FOR THE ENGLISH LITERACY COURSE IN THE OXFORD UNIVERSITY. FORTUNATELY, AFTER A LONG WAIT I HAVE BEEN INVITED TO JOIN BY AUGUST 2020. IT IS A SIX MONTH FULL TIME COURSE. BASICALLY, I WILL BE HAVING MY CLASSES FROM EARLY MORNING TO MID DAY. AFTER THE COLLEGE HOURS I AM NOT OCCUPIED WITH ANY KIND OF WORK FOR THE REST OF THE DAY. IN ADDITION TO THIS, YOU KNOW THESE UNIVERSITY PROGRAMS ARE QUITE EXPENSIVE. THEREFORE, I WAS THINKING TO SEARCH FOR SOME JOB AND WORK IN THOSE HOURS. AS A RESULT OF THIS I WILL NOT ONLY UTILISE THE FREE TIME BUT ALSO SAVE FEW BUCKS FOR MY FEES.
I HAD A CONVERSATIONS WITH ON OF THE RECRUITERS RECENTLY. THEY HAVE SUGGESTED ME TO ARRANGE A REFERENCE LETTER FROM ONE OF THE NATIVE EMPLOYERS WHICH WILL EASE MY PROCESS OF RECRUITMENT. I COULDN’T THINK OF SOMEONE BETTER THAN YOU SINCE YOU HAVE BEEN LIVING AND MANAGING A COMPANY OVER THERE SINCE 10 YEARS. I HOPE YOU EMPATHISE WITH SITUATION AND WILL HELP ME FASTENING THIS PROCESS EVENTUALLY.
YOURS FAITHFULLY
