Generally speaking, the number of Australian people who were out of job had a tendency to fall down at the end of 2012, which opposed to their counterparts in the urban regions.
A closer look at the diagram shows that after a half year had passed, the two categories experiencing a drop to approximately 5% and a rise of 2%, then they both hit the lowest points at 4.5% and 2% in the rural areas and urban areas respectively. The rural unemployment rate trend increased and reached its top at roughly 5.5%, followed by a slight reduction of 0.5% till the end of the year. In the same period of time, however, their counterparts witnessed a gradual upward trend and finished at over 4.5%.
