Fuel-cell engine over internal-combation engin
The reading passage and lecture have conflicting opinions about whether it is a good idea to use a fuel-cell engine to substitute internal-combustion one. The author strongly postulates that fuel-cell engine has several benefits, on the other hand, the listening adamantly delineates that there are several counterarguments to this view.
First and foremost, according to the author of the excerpt, the internal-combustion engine heavily depends on petroleum which is not a renewable resource. On the other hand, the alternative choice uses natural gas and water. The writer further points out that it is not readily run out and accessible to anyone. Nonetheless, the lecture offsets these points by declaring that although the author's some of the points are true, using water is not as easy as the author thinks. this is mainly due to the fact that it uses pure liquid water which is made by a highly artificial cold environment. Therefore, she asserts that using a fuel-cell engine is not practical and easy to store.
Secondly, the professor in the lecture further says that using this engine is not solve the environmental issues associated with pollution. Furthermore, she explains that it has to be purified that means it requires a ton of energy to produce it. Consequently, the manufactories will create a great amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere to emerge it even if the automobile doesn't contribute to pollution. These claims refute the writer's implications about it will resolve the pollution's problems easily because it only uses water instead.
The article lastly insists that utilising fuel-cell engine is cheaper than other replacement on account of its efficiency of fuel energy. The speaker in the listening counters these indications by pointing out that creating this energy is expensive because it requires a rare material which is an essential part of its production. It goes without saying that it can't undergo chemical reaction without this material. Additionally, she explains that other cheaper material tried to replace this integral material, but it grounded nothing.
