Overall, the USA and Canada are the most significant consumer of oil, whereas Africa made the least consumption. The major producer of oil was the Middle East; however, the least contribution towards oil generation was made by Europe.
Firstly, the most striking feature of the graph is that the oil used by the Middle East was 5.7%, while their contribution to oil production was around 30%, which is six times. Similarly, the Former Soviet Union and Africa consumed 4.50% and 3.30% of oil respectively, and they produced nearly around three times of oil accounting for 11.70% and 10.50%. In contrast, the USA and Canada had utilized one-third of the total global oil; however, they had generated one-fifth of the net production.
Furthermore, approximately over a quarter of oil had been exploited by Asia pacific, whereas the contribution towards production was a mere 10.70%. Finally, one-fifth of the oil was consumed by Europe, although the rate at which they generate the oil was the least, resulting in 9.10%.
