The graph compares how many students chose their subjects for university in the year of 2005.
Overall, female had the highest share in three subjects while men ranked first in four. The highest figure for female and male were reported in Social Sciences and Sciences respectively.
There was a significant differences between the amount of male and female in Science, former standing first with 21 thousand and latter have half students than that. The disparity between the two figures were almost same in Mathematics and Languages. However, while in the former male had the higher share of students with 18 thousands, female accounted for the larger proportion in the latter with same numbers. Women ranked first in Social Sciences, whereas the share of men was lower by a remarkable margin ( 24 and 14 thousands).
In contrast, there were threefold disparity among male and female in subjects like Art, Music, Drama. The Literature and Law have 5 thousands difference between men and women, while former subject was responsible for 15 thousands and latter was 10 thousands students, and men were the highest share among both of them.
