The chart below shows the process of waste paper recycling.

The flow chart illustrates the process of recycling waste paper.

It is clear that there are six distinct stages in this process, from the initial collection of waste paper to the eventual production of usable paper.

At the first step in the paper recycling procedure, waste paper is collected either from paper banks, where public leave their used paper, or directly from businesses. Next, these collected paper is sorted by hand to be graded, and any paper unsuitable for cycling will be removed in this step. The graded paper then is transported to a paper mill for delivery.

The last three steps begin with the cleaning and pulping of the transported paper. After removing other materials (e.g. staples) from paper pulp, it is de-inked to remove inks and gludes and prepared for the last step, manufacting. Finally, the pulp can be processed in a paper making machine, which makes the end product: usable paper.
