The line graph compares the proportion of population aged 65 and above. The years are represented on the x-axis and the y-axis depicts the percentage
Overall,it is immediately apparent from the graph that Japan had least aged people up to 2000. However,the projected percentage is highest among three countries.
To begin,USA and Sweden followed a fairly similar pattern from 1940 to 1980 however,USA slightly exceeded Sweden,making up to 15 percent in 1980. Interestingly,Japan highlights the minimal aged people,5%(1940) and as least as about 2% in 1980. After 1980, USA and Sweden showed a downfall till 2000,while there was a modest increase of about 3% up to 2000 in Japan . The projected population,Japan shows a continued climb up to 2020 rocketed in the following years and accounted as the largest aged population of about 27%. On the other hand, USA shows a stabilization up to 2020 while Sweden increased gradually up to 20 %. After showing a certain fluctuation Sweden is expected to reach up to 25% and USA reflects a steady rise and will reach up to 23 percent in 2040.
To recapitulate,it is understood that the country with the least aged population will expect the largest aged population in the future.
