Your company has sent you to attend a course at college in a different country. You have completed the course and received a certificate, but you lost it on the way back. Write a letter to the Principal of the college and say:
1. how did you lose the certificate?
2. why do you need it?
3. what do you expect the principal to do?
Dear Mr. Smith,
I am writing to you to ask if you would like to do me a favour to send me another copy of a certificate in your college.
I just passed the tough exam of the course in your college and got the certificate several days ago. I was so glad that I booked the earliest flight to get back to my country. But unfortunately, I lost my baggage in the taxi when I got off the airplane and took a taxi home. There was nothing really important but the certificate.
The certificate was really important to me because with its help I could get promoted in my company. I know it was all my fault to get it lost, but I will really appreciate your help if you send me another copy of a certificate by mail.
Thank you in advance for your understanding and kindness.
Looking forward to your reply!
Sincerely,
Pirlo
