The Bar chart compares and contrasts data on the amount of dollars drained for the consumption of alcohol and drugs in five distinct years.
In an overview, the expenditure on alcohol is more than drugs, and despite of some fluctuations they seem to rise.
The money spent on alcohol in 1975 and 1992 is nearly equal to 146 US billion dollars. In between these extreme years, the expenditure is fluctuating. In 1977 it had a dip of 6 billion dollars and reached a level of 140 billion dollars, but only after 3 years it rose by 46 billion to reach the highest of 186 billion. However, Five years later, it slummed to 104 US billion dollars, which is 82 billion less.
Similarly, the drug purchase is not far behind, it also witness a growth in its market. The year 1992 saw a consumption of 98 billion dollars and starting year 1997 had only one third businesses i.e. 35 billion of dollars. Similarly, 1997 had 46 billion drainage of money, which grew to double of its value in 1980 and reaching a mark of 102 billion. Although in next 5 years the value decreased to 65 billion, which is equal to an approx of two-third of 1980 value.
