The bar graph compares and contrasts data on the change in the number of employees in the five different departments of an area in the Australian continent for two years with a difference of nine years.
In an overview, there is a slight rise in the figures of employees in three departments (sales, computing, and nursing), whereas two departments (accounting and farming) show a gradual decline.
Firstly, the sales department, which had the maximum number of employees in both the years, in 2001 it had 1,80,000 staff members, and by 2008 it reached to an approx value of 1,90,000. Similarly, in the computing and nursing department, the employee count was 1 lakh and 40,000, respectively, and by 2008 it grew to a near value of 1,10,000 and 50,000, respectively. All these departments showed an increase of 10,000 members.
Secondly, the accounting department, which had about half the number of employees when compared to the sales department, witnessed a decrease of nearly 10,000 employees in eight years and reached 80,000. Even the farming department, which had the least number of employees, saw a fall of staff by 10,000 and reached the lowest count of only 20,000 representatives.
