According to the reading,replacing gasoline with Ethanol fuel that is produced by plants, is not a suitable idea, but the lecturer oppose that and says, Ethanol is a good alternative to a gasoline and non of the supporting Ideas in the reading are not convincing.
Firstly,although the reading states that the problem of global warming that is caused by using gasoline is not solved by consuming Ethanol because it release carbon dioxide that is harmful for atmosphere, the lecturer states that plants which are used for producing ethanol absorb this amount of carbon dioxide and remove if from the atmosphere.
Secondly, the reading says using corn for producing ethanol causes reduction of food source for other animals, but according to the lecturer, this production needs some parts of plants that are named Selulouse and it is not eaten by animals, so, it will not lead to reduction of food source.
Finally, according to the reading, without the help of the United States government price of ethanol going to be risen and it can not be compatible with gasoline. However, the lecturer states that in the future ethanol will be able to compete with gasoline in terms of price because by start buying ethanol producing it will be increased and it leads to drop in its price .
