The given line graph compares the data on language choice between Mandarin and French by students of age 13 in a school in England from the year 2000 till now.
Overall, a reverse behaviour can be seen in language selection during few starting years, as the demand for Mandarin rose steadily while fell significantly in case of French. However, over the last few years, both attained a stable trend, with French remained at the higher demand.
Getting back to details, almost 150 students selected French as against only 5 who chose Mandarin in the year 2000. However, popularity for Mandarin kept on rising sharply and reached to its peak value of nearly 78 whereas for French it fell dramatically to reach its lowest value of just 90 by the year 2005.
Between 2005 and 2008, fluctuation period can be witnessed in the demand of both languages. However, from 2009 to present, both languages have reached to stable value of 90,78, with French remained at the higher end.
