The reading passage states that afford for ecocertified wood products are useless. However, the professor in the lecture casts doubt on the points made in the reading.
First, considering the article American customers are exposed much advertising and they would not value or attention to ecocertification label. In contrast, the professor in the lecture contradicts the idea and further explains that people don't treat with all the claims in the advertising and also American customers have reliable to the international organizations who started issuing to wood companies for prepare high ecological standards.
Second, the reading claims that ecocertified wood will be more expensive than uncertified wood. Admittedly, the professor in the lecture justifies the information presented in the reading and makes the point that American customers pay attention to cost of products if they want to compare two products with each other and actually they spend money for valuable products and quality is so important for them.
Tired, the author in the reading passage puts forward the idea that pursuing certification would not make sense for American wood companies because they sell their products to American people. In the same way, the speaker validate the idea and add that the companies can be sure about selling their products if gain certificate in competition with abroad products.
To sum up, both the writer and speaker hold conflicting views about ecocertified wood products. It is clear that they will have trouble finding common ground on this issue.
