The table shows the proportion of land covered by forest in four countries in 1990 and 2005 as well as projected figures for 2015.
It is noticeble that Brazil had the largest proportion of land in three years. However, Brazil and Australia experienced a decrease whereas New Zealand and Chile had an upward trend in the figures for forested land over the period shown.
Out of the four countries, the percentage of forested land was noticeably higher in Brazil, at 62.2% and New Zealand, at 28.8% in 1990. The figures for land covered by forest was also higher in Brazil in 2005 as well as projected in 2015, but it rapidly declined by 10% in total, at 53.5% for 2015. By contrast, forested land in New Zealand see an increase to 31% in 2005 and estimated in 2015, at 32.3%.
Nearly 22% of land covered by forest in Australia was bigger than that in Chile, with 20.4% in 1990. And, Australia merely decreased whereas Chile inclined slightly, with 21.3% and 21.5% of forested land respectively in 2005. We can also see a continuous trend estimated figures for 2015, at 20% in Australia and 22% in Chile.
