The bar chart compares the enrolment of men and women into full-time and part-time British further education programs in the 1970, 1980 and 1990 school years.
It is clear that the number of men and women enrolled in part-time British higher education witnessed a steady increase after three periods. The figure of female fulltime-education participants also rose gradually however, there was a fluctuation in number of men enrolled in full-time education at the same periods.
Men and women enrolment in part-time education both gradually increased from around 100k and almost 100k to around 300k people respectively after 20 years. In addition, full-time education female participents also rose from above 700k to around 800k and then jumped to aroung 1100k at the end of the periods. In constrast, after a drop from 1000k to under 900k in the 1980s, men’s number increased to 900k in the 1990s.
In the 1970s and 1980s, enrolment of men in higher-education programs was higher than women with 1000k and under 900k compare to under 800k and above 800k respectively. While in the last periods, women’s figure was outraced men’s with around 1100k compare to around 900k respectively.
