The given pie charts illustrate the proportion of driving forces that contributed in both immigration and emmigration to UK in the year 2007.

As is observed, while a greater percentage of people migrated mainly for employment and education purposes, there was a smaller percentage of people emmigrating for studies in UK.

A closer look at the pictorial pie chart reveals that one third of people immigrated to UK with regard to long-term jobs and the number of emmigrants constituted roughly the same. In terms of the immigrants searching for professional of prospects, which was 12%, is being doubled by the emmigrating ones, which made up 22%. Interestingly, a significant majority, taking up 26%, moved to UK for academic study whereas only 4% left the country for the same reason.

Furthermore, marginal differences are witnessed between people’s entering and leaving the UK for family union, accounting for 15% and 13% respectively, However, 32% of people gave other and unspecified reason for leaving UK and this proportion for reasons lead to 17% of immigration.
